I've been to Radio City Music Hall in New York City on sightseeing trips many times over the span of 60 years with family but somehow we always missed one of its shows. But it was jaw dropping when I finally entered the huge theater with its soaring height and arched ceiling.
I had glimpsed the insides of the building countless times through the confines of a TV screen while watching one of its specials, so it immediately felt like I was walking through a familiar, iconic place from my past. And then I was given a delightful, colorful, musical, magical Christmas treat when the show began and the Rockettes proceeded to dance merrily across my heart.
Wow, no TV, no matter its size, could ever convey the depth and breadth of it. I will be coming back with my grandkids; they shouldn't have to wait 64 years to see such a grand spectacle.
